The mares retained their excellent record in the G1 Etrier 5 ans Finale - Prix de Normandie (3000m) as Gladys des Plaines bolted up in Sundays feature. The success meant a sixth consecutive victory for mares in the contest.

Settled just off the pace early on by jockey Mathieu Mottier, the pair moved to the front after 900m. The daughter of Opus Viervil quickly built up a substantial lead and stretched out turning for home, immediately putting her rivals in danger. The impressive Gladys des Plaines eventually ran out a comfortable winner with fellow mare Granvillaise Bleue in second and Gangster du Wallon third.

The Gilles Curens-trained mare set a new kilometre rating record with a remarkable 1'12''3 succeeding that of the 1'12''7 from Flamme du Goutier.

It was a tenth career victory for the five-year-old and a second at Group One level following last year’s success in the G1 Prix du Président de la République (2850m).

The Jean-Michel Bazire-trained and driven five-year-old recorded a first Group One success with a well-earned success in the G1 Prix de l'Etoile (2200m) last Sunday. Having produced a good third in the G1 Sulky 5 Ans Finale - Critérium des 5 Ans (3000m) at Vincennes prior it was clear he arrived with a winning chance. However, he had to take on the progressive and high-class three-year-old Italiano Vero.

Positioned in midfield early by Jean-Michel Bazire the driver decided to take up the running with a decisive move rounding the second last turn. The son of Jasmin de Flore showed a smart turn of foot up the home straight before hanging on well in the closing stages.

The success was made even more satisfying for Jean-Michel Bazire given the driver drove his sire Jasmin de Flore the multiple Group One victories including the G1 Criterium Des 4 Ans (2850m) and the G1 Prix de Selection (2150m).
